#GiveTheGiftOfMusic

I didn’t invent the hashtag that acts as the title for this page, but I am trying to make use of it on Twitter as often as seems good to me. It occurred to me that displaying my tweets with this hashtag in a central location might enhance the groove, so in that interest, here we are.

Before I start adding tweets I want to offer up the song I’ve adopted as my theme. My username on Twitter is @WanderinChild and I took that name from the title of one of my favorite songs by Gov’t Mule. I find the song expressive of certain aspects of my nature. The song also contains a reference to Ragnarok, which has always struck me as cool. So first up, a video of the classic mule lineup of Haynes, Woody and Abts laying it down. (Scroll below the video for the lyrics, assuming you don’t boost it full-screen. Also, here’s a YouTube video that’s straight audio from the studio album version.)

In a lonely dream a boy goes walking
Drowned in shame, drunken with emotion
He says his world is just an ocean
says his poor heart too many times been broken

The bones in your closet
Once bore the skin of your fathers
Guess that means it’s out of your hands
Or you’re too tired, too tired to bother

Help me now, save the wandering child

Now that you’re broken, who’ll clean up this mess
Now that your vision is blinded, I guess
You say “where do I fall, now that my strength is gone
and who do I tell, ‘I’ve done nothing wrong'”

Float upon the river till the water runs still
Dive to the bottom–got to drink from the well
Till I find out who I am, till I find out who I am
Now that there’s no one to show me

Help me now, save the wandering child
Help me now, save the wandering child

In a lonely dream a boy goes walking
Drowned in shame, drunken with emotion
He says his kill–it is his crown
Says his angels are no longer looking down

A horse and a monkey, no kids and no wife
A hell of a way for a hero to spend his life
Time to unearth the worm
Let this bridge fall down and burn

Help me now, save the wandering child
Help me now, save the wandering child
Help me now, save the wandering child
Help me now, save the wandering child

And now, the tweet archive (newest tweets at the top of the list (descending sort by post date))…

The first time I tweeted a music video I didn’t include the hashtag. It didn’t occur to me until the second tweet.
